Description
Medical institutions refer to all institutions where doctors, dentists, oriental medicine doctors, and midwives perform medical or midwifery acts. According to the Medical Act, they can be broadly divided into clinic-level medical institutions that mainly treat outpatients, hospital-level medical institutions that mainly treat inpatients, and midwives where midwives assist pregnant women in giving birth. Hospital-level medical institutions are further classified into hospitals, dental hospitals, oriental medicine hospitals, nursing hospitals, psychiatric hospitals, and general hospitals based on specialty and number of beds, while clinic-level medical institutions are classified into clinics, dental clinics, and oriental medicine clinics.
