Introduction

Public Data portal is the central (one-stop-shop) portal that provides Public Data created or acquired and managed by all public sector organizations. The OGD portal provides various methods such as file data, Open API, and visualization so that the public can easily and conveniently use Public Data, and anyone can quickly and accurately find the desired Public Data through easy and convenient search.

Article 21 of 「ACT ON PROMOTION OF THE PROVISION AND USE OF PUBLIC DATA (Public Data Act)」 (operation of Public Data portal)

Article 21 (operation of Public Data portal)

  1. ① The Minister of Public Administration and Security shall establish, manage and promote the use of an integrated provision system (hereinafter referred to as "Public Data portal") for efficient provision of Public Data.
  2. ② The Minister of Public Administration and Security may request the head of a public institution for cooperation in connection and provision of Public Data necessary for establishment and operation of a Public Data portal.
    In this case, the head of the public institution receiving the request shall comply with it unless there is a special reason.
  3. ③ Other necessary matters such as establishment, management, and promotion of Reuse of Public Data portals shall be prescribed by Presidential Decree.

Introduction

The Open Data Center is a working organization dedicated to supporting public institutions' data opening and private use. The center is equipped with expertise and capabilities in the creation, opening and Usage of Public Data, expanding the opening of high-quality Public Data at the point of contact between the public and the private sector, and playing a role of comprehensively supporting the creative use of the private sector.
