Gyeongsangnam-do Changwon-si_Water supply rate by town/village/district
According to the water supply status of Changwon City as of March 31, 2025, out of the total population of 1,018,209, 1,007,657 people use the water supply service, and the water supply rate is 98.96%. This shows that most citizens are stably supplied with water, but it was revealed that there are still problems with the lack of water supply in some areas. When looking at Changwon City by administrative district, Uichang-gu has a relatively low supply rate of 98.4%, and there are 3,482 people without water supply. In particular, it is understood that the unsupplied water is concentrated in Dong-eup and Buk-myeon. Seongsan-gu has a supply rate of 99.6%, and there are 880 people without water supply, mainly distributed in Seongju-dong and Ungnam-dong. Meanwhile, Masanhappo-gu has a relatively low supply rate of 97.3%. The total unserved population is 4,826, making it the district with the largest unserved population in the entire city. In particular, Jinbuk-myeon and Jinjeon-myeon have high unserved population rates, and remain blind spots in terms of water supply. Masanhoewon-gu and Jinhae-gu both record high water supply rates of 99.6%, but there are 654 and 710 unserved populations, respectively, and they are distributed in some areas such as Naeseo-eup, Hoeseong-dong (Hoewon-gu), Pungho-dong, and Ungcheon-dong (Jinhae-gu). The severity of the problem becomes more evident when looking at the townships with low water supply rates. Jinbuk-myeon has a water supply rate of 56.0%, while Jinjeon-myeon has a water supply rate of 43.1%, which is less than half of the total in both areas. In Jinbuk-myeon, 1,565 people do not receive water service, and most of them, 1,369, are receiving water through small-scale water supply facilities. In Jinjeon-myeon, 1,181 out of 2,154 people without water supply depend on small-scale water supply facilities. This suggests that there is an urgent need to improve the water supply infrastructure in the area.
