Among the health and welfare status managed by the Ministry of Health and Welfare, this provides information on the trend of current medical expenses by financial source (year, GDP, private sector composition ratio, medical expenses per person, etc.) from 1994 to 2023. <Things to note when using statistical data> ○ Starting with the 2014 National Health Accounts (Ministry of Health and Welfare, 2016), the OECD standard SHA 1.0 has been converted to SHA2011 for calculation. * SHA: System of Health Accounts ○ Current medical expenses: The total amount spent by the entire population in one year to consume health care goods and services ○ By financial source: Distinguishing financial sources at the stage of payment to providers - Government/mandatory subscription system: Government (central, local) + mandatory subscription (health insurance, industrial accident compensation insurance, long-term care insurance, automobile liability insurance) - Private sector: Voluntary subscription (private insurance, non-profit organizations, companies) + direct burden by households (statutory co-payment, non-covered co-payment) ○ Percentage of GDP: The proportion of current medical expenses in relation to the gross domestic product (GDP).
