생명윤리 및 안전에 관한 법률(이하 "생명윤리법")제2조제13항에 따라 "인체유래물 또는 유전정보와 그에 관련된 역학정보, 임상정보 등을 수집 및 보존하여 이를 직업 이용하여 연구하거나 연구자에게 제공하는 기관을 "인체유래물은행"이라고 한다
질병관리청은 생명윤리법 제41조에 따라 개설허가 신청한 기관이 요건을 충족하였을 때허가하고 있으며, 분기별로 운영 중인 인체유래물은행 관련 데이터를 제공합니다.(허가번호, 기관명, 기관소재지)
