종관기상관측은 정해진 시각의 대기 상태를 파악하기 위해 모든 관측소에서 같은 시각에 실시하는 지상관측입니다. 대기 상태를 종관기상관측장비(ASOS, AutomatedSynoptic Observing System)를 이용해 자동으로 관측하며 시정, 구름, 일기현상 등 일부 요소는 목측으로 관측합니다.
관측요소는 기온, 강수량, 습도, 기압, 풍향, 풍속 등이 있으며, 관측주기는 1분으로 매분자료와 함께 시간자료, 일자료, 월자료, 연자료를 제공하고 있습니다.

Synoptic meteorological observations are ground-based observations conducted at all observatories at the same time to determine atmospheric conditions at a given point in time. Atmospheric conditions are automatically observed using the Automated Synoptic Observing System (ASOS), while some elements, such as visibility, cloud cover, and weather phenomena, are visually observed. Observational elements include temperature, precipitation, humidity, barometric pressure, wind direction, and wind speed.
