본 데이터는 교차로, 도로분기점, 교량, 주요 교통시설 등 교통 네트워크를 구성하는 주요 지점의 현황을 제공하며, 교통정보 수집·분석·제공을 위한 기초자료로 활용된다. 또한 실시간 교통정보 서비스, 교통관제 운영, 교통시설 관리, 교통안전 정책 수립 및 교통혼잡 분석을 지원한다.
