법무연수원은 형사정책 수립에 필요한 각종 기초 자료를 제공하여 범죄 예방 및 법무행정 발전에 기여하고자 최근 10년간의 범죄발생부터 사건처리, 범죄자 처우에 이르기 까지 형사사법 전반에 걸친 통계와 그 추이를 체계적으로 분석하고 평가한 범죄 백서를 1984년부터 매년 발간하고 있습니다.

제 1편 범죄의 동향, 제 2편 범죄의 처리, 제3편 범죄자 처우, 제 4편 소년범죄 동향과 처리실태로 구성되어있으며, 범죄의 동향, 처리, 범죄자의 처우에 이르는 각종 현황 및 통계자료 등이 추가로 수록되어있습니다.

범죄백서에서의 범죄건수 및 범죄자 인원수 관련 통계는 대검찰청 범죄통계자료집인 "범죄분석"의 통계를 원용하였습니다.

"범죄분석" 통계는 수사기관에서 작성, 입력되는 범죄통계원표를 토대로 산출된 것으로써, 대검찰청 통합사건관리시스템에 의하여 생성되는 "종합심사분석" 통계와는 입력인자가 상이하여 다소간 차이가 있을수 있습니다. The Judicial Research and Training Institute (JRTI) has been publishing the Crime White Paper annually since 1984. This paper systematically analyzes and evaluates statistics and trends across the entire criminal justice system, from crime occurrence to case processing and offender treatment, over the past decade. This paper aims to contribute to crime prevention and the advancement of legal administration by providing various basic data necessary for criminal policy formulation. The White Paper consists of three sections: Part 1: Crime Trends, Part 2: Crime Processing, Part 3: Offender Treatment, and Part 4: Juvenile Crime Trends and Processing. Additional information and statistics on crime trends, processing, and offender treatment are also included. The statistics on the number of crimes and the number of offenders in the Crime White Paper are derived from the \Crime Analysis,\ a crime statistics collection compiled by the Supreme Prosecutors' Office.
