표준강수지수(SPI, Standardized Precipitation Index)는 Mckee, Doesken & Kleist(1993)가 개발한 가뭄지수로 강수량만을 이용하여 가뭄 심도를 산정하며 각 시간 단위에 따른 강수량의 과잉 혹은 부족을 나타내기 때문에 시간 단위에 따라 장/단기가뭄을 유연하게 나타낼 수 있습니다.
