[용어 설명]

1. 지리정보시스템 [GIS,Geographic Information System]
지리공간데이터(geographic or geospatial data)를 기반으로 유용한 정보를 생성하는 정보시스템

2. 통계지리정보시스템/서비스 [SGIS,Statistical Geographic Information System]
인구주택 및 사업체 센서스 데이터에 지리학적 공간(geographic space/geospace) 속성, 즉 위치값(경위도나 주소 등), 경계, 지도 등을 부가한 센서스 공간데이터(census spatial data)를 기반으로 합리적 의사결정을 지원하는 유용한 정보를 생성하기 위한 정보시스템, 혹은 그 서비스

3. 월간통계
- 소비자물가지수, 실업률 등 월간 주요 통계정보를 당월통계, 전월비 및 전년동월비 등 3가지로 구분하여 지도기반의 색상지도로 보여주는 서비스
- 통계정보는 2008년 이후 월단위로 제공하고, 통계항목에 대한 시도단위의 통계값을 지도에 표출

- 고용동향 : 고용률, 실업률
- 산업활동동향 : 광공업지수(생산/출하/재고), 부도율, 대형소매판매액지수
- 소비자물가동향 : 소비자물가지수, 생활물가지수

[Terminology]

1. Geographic Information System [GIS]
An information system that generates useful information based on geographic or geospatial data

2. Statistical Geographic Information System/Service [SGIS, Statistical Geographic Information System]
An information system or service for generating useful information to support rational decision-making based on census spatial data that adds geographic space (geospace) attributes, such as location values (longitude and latitude, address, etc.), boundaries, and maps, to population, housing, and business census data.

3. Monthly statistics
- A service that displays monthly key statistical information, such as the consumer price index and unemployment rate, in a color-based map, categorized into three categories: current month statistics, previous month comparison, and year-on-year comparison.
- Statistical information is provided on a monthly basis since 2008, and statistical values for each statistical item are displayed on a map.
