It was collected for the purposes of regional mid-term demand forecasts, regional supply planning, analysis of inter-regional supply and demand balances, and investment prioritization. The data is organized by use, region (Gangwon, Seoul, Yeongnam, Jeju, Central, and Honam), and yearly demand forecasts (in thousand cubic meters), allowing for comprehensive forecasts of regional demand changes over the next five years. This data allows for analysis of regional mid-term demand growth rates, comparison of demand forecasts by use, analysis of inter-regional demand gaps, assessment of supply capacity against demand forecasts, and identification of high-growth regions. It is also used to develop regional supply infrastructure expansion plans, review inter-regional supply and demand linkages, develop regional supply and demand plans, and allocate regional investments.
